RIVERS APC UNDECIDED AS ASPIRANTS BATTLE FOR PDP TICKET

As the count down to Rivers 2015 begins with barely two months for the candidates to emerge, the two major political parties in the state which are poised for a showdown seem to have narrowed down their search for the most suitable candidates to win the what may be described as the fiercest and mother of all battles.
While the ruling party in the state, APC, remains silent on its choice of candidate for the governorship election, the rival PDP has been besieged with over 20 aspirants who are interested in the race. They include the likes of Barr Nyeso Wike who is yet to resign from his position as the Minister of State for Education, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Alabo Pawariso Samuel-Horsfall, Engr. Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack, Nimi Walson-Jack, Commander Ateke Tom, Chief Samson Ngerebara, David Briggs, Boma Jack, Prince Tonye Princewill, Senator Lee Maeba and a handful of others.
Though there is a clamour for power shift from the Upland area to the Riverine area, the most prominent and daring of all the aspirants in PDP is Nyeso Wike who by his position is the leader of the party in the state after the forced exit of the governor from the party.
Wike's ambition and control of the party structure seems to be tearing the party apart so much so that the leaders of the party in the state have convened several meetings to avert the crisis that may dwindle their chances of wrestling power from Gov. Amaechi's APC.
Though Chief Bekinbo Soberekon and Chief Albert Horsfall have tried to wade in.
